Mr. Independent

Usually when I give Carson a banana to eat I cut it into slices for him to pick up or hand him a larger section of the banana to hold in his hands and eat. Yesterday I broke of a section and attempted to hand it to him. He was not pleased with this! He kept whining and pointing to the banana that I was holding with the peal still intact. So I handed him the banana with the peal on and the other section I had broken off. He then tried to put the section I had broken off back on the banana, which of course didn't work. He was very content holding the banana and eating like a big boy.
I remember this exact thing happening with Andrew. There was a time when he wanted to eat the banana while it was still in the peal. Now if I could only remember how old he was when this happened.
