Today Andrew turned 3 1/2 years old. In honor of that I decided to try out a new cupcake recipe. The strawberry cupcake recipe I made is from
Sprinkles Cupcakes. I got it from their website, under
Press and it is in the clip with Martha Stewart. (I didn't feel like I should list her recipe on my blog although she does gives it out on Martha's show in this clip) I didn't use ripe enough strawberries so you couldn't really taste the strawberry, but they were still tasty. Andrew enjoyed helping..."Can I help? I'm a good pourer, a good stirrer and a good mixer!" Both Andrew & Carson enjoyed licking the beaters.

When Chad came home today, Andrew said as soon as Chad walked in the door "It's my have birthday! It's my have birthday!" Chad said "who's birthday is it?" Andrew answered "my HAVE birthday!" Chad looked at me and said "Since when do we celebrate half birthdays?" I guess I just needed an excuse to bake. Earlier during the day, Andrew said he didn't want frosting on his cupcake. So after supper (yes I made them wait to have cupcakes till after supper, how terrible is that!!) I clarified if he really didn't want frosting on his. He said he didn't. Then I asked if he wanted candles on it. He said "Yes, with fire too!"
Andrew is such a fun little guy. Always has plenty of energy and lots to say. One of his new things is the phrase "What kind of a _____ was it?" For example, the other day on our walk, this is how the conversation went....
Does Daddy have a chain saw? No, he borrowed one. Why did he borrow one? To cut down the trees in the woods. Why did he cut down the trees? Because they were damaged by the storm. What kind of storm was it? The storm started out with rain and changed to ice. What kind of ice was it? By this point I just have to let out an
Aaugh! Sometimes his constant questions get to me, especially because he knows all that about this current conversation. Also the other day we were talking about Grandma and he said to clarify "What kind of Grandma was it?" meaning which Grandma. Here are some recent goofy pictures of him.

I don't want my picture taken!

i miss my lil' peanut.
What a big boy! Jonah was asking every day when he would be 4 1/2. It's important to them at these ages! I love that you celebrated it. Very sweet.
Those sound about like some of our conversations with Morgan. Like you, I'm not a big fan of answering questions that she already knows the answers to. At least I know I'm not the only one. :)
