"Can I do that again?"

Andrew is really enjoying swimming. He had lots of fun swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's pool over the weekend. Chad and Andrew would "do bobs" (go underwater) at the same time. Andrew started out only putting his mouth and nose in the water, then he would put his eyes in and then got to the point of putting his whole head under ~ well almost. He would usually leave the top of his head out or the back of his head, depending on which way he would enter the water.

Yesterday and today at swimming lessons he has had so much fun. He continues to put most of his head under water. Today there was a young man leading his swim class with another female life guard. But this young man was wonderful! He was very encouraging to the children, giving them Hi-5s and telling them what a great job they did. Andrew loved it. Yesterday a few kids from his class went off the diving board in the deep end at the end of class. Andrew just watched. But today he did it!!! He didn't actually jump off, he was lowered by his hands by one life guard into the water, where another life guard was to catch him. He did go completely under water for a second. He really enjoyed it and said "Can I do that again?" as he climbed up the ladder and out of the pool. And so he did. Maybe by Thursday he might try jumping.

Just another example of how this little boy will do things much better on his own time.
