Under a shady tree, you and me

Ever since we spent a summer in Maine, (Chad took a course at Colby College in Waterville Maine during his Residency training) we thought it would be nice to have some Adirondack chairs. These chairs were plentiful throughout Maine. They always looked so inviting and relaxing.

We had thought last year about getting some, but the nice ones we would find were really expensive. So we opted for these chairs. We thought we liked them, but have realized that they aren't all that comfortable.

Then a few weeks ago, we were at my parents. The Carp Festival was going on that weekend and we went up to "Art in the Park". That is where we saw "the other Chad Kauffman" - a friend of the family/friend of mine from our days in MYF together. Actually we go back even further than that - we used to be their neighbors and his mom Becky would babysit my siblings and I. Anyways, he and his Dad, Randy had just started this business called Kauffman Woodwork & Crafts, LLC. Chad had a few Adirondack chairs at a booth there and we really liked them. So we contacted Randy this past weekend and he and Becky delivered four chairs to us yesterday!

We are enjoying these chairs. They are out in the grass under the shady trees (We love Laurie Berkner). Chad and I came out last night after the boys were in bed. It was nice to be outside reading in these lovely chairs. And even as a I type this, we are outside on the chairs. Even though it is really warm and humid, it feels nice in the shade.

Goofy Carson in the chair.

One of the pictures I attempted to take last night but it was a bit too dark.

(I guess I was link happy in this post!!)
