Justin Roberts

June 5th was alumni weekend at nearby Kenyon College. A friend informed us of a children's concert by Justin Roberts that Saturday. Justin Roberts is an alum of Kenyon and is a singer/song writer of children's music. When I first heard mention of his name, I didn't think I was familiar with him. But then I looked on line a little bit and realized that I have heard a few of his songs on the children's TV channels, perhaps Nick or Noggin.

We all went to the concert and really enjoyed it. He and his band were quirky and enjoyable for any age to enjoy. The first song they sang was called Giant-Sized Butterflies. It is about a little boy going off to school on his first day and how is mom helps him through that day. It is such a sweet song. I really thought I was okay about Andrew going off to school, not feeling emotional about it....but this song proved otherwise! I was really choked up as I listened to it (and again now). I hope Andrew doesn't have issues with going off that afternoon cause then I might as well! But if he is fine, then I think I will be too.

Here is a cute video called Pop Fly. And another Tie Your Shoes. And another One Little Cookie, this song was sung by one of the groups at Andrew's TaVaci concert this spring. And Yellow Bus (live performance) & Yellow Bus video with some funny teenagers. Really cute Obsessed by Trucks for all those little boys out there. Since the concert, we have checked out a CD from the library of his and are enjoying it. We just might have to purchase one!

Carson had some crazy dance moves from his seat. It mainly consisted of swinging his arms back & forth (like punching the air) extremely fast!

This was the last song where many of the children joined them on stage to dance. Fun time!
