Today Andrew's preschool class took a field trip to an
Legend Hills Orchard. Carson & I met the bus there. They showed the kids how they make apple cider and how they sort the apples with a large machine. Each child was able to pick a bag full of apples.

In the above picture, the children are being shown the apple sorter machine. It was quite loud - Andrew is in the front in a white T-shirt with his hands over his ears! :)

Here the kids are boarding the bus to ride across the road to pick apples. The bus ride might be the most fun thing about any field trip.

Here is Andrew with two preschool buddies on the bus.

Carson was pretty ornery with this long piece of grass as the kids were picking apples.

Carson's first bus ride. Carson and I rode on the bus with the preschool kids and teachers from the store across the road to where the kids were picking apples.

Too funny!! Is he in pain?

I made an apple crumb pie with the apples Andrew picked. It looked pretty but the minute I cut into it I knew something wasn't right. I must admit, it was a little dissappointing. :( It was really juicy/liquidy and the apples were still a little crisp. Perhaps I should have baked it longer, perhaps the apples weren't the best baking apples (I'm not sure what kind he picked) or perhaps the apples weren't quite ripe? I don't know.
