Where oh, where does the time go?

I have been far behind on this blog for quite some time.  I have tried to play catch up several times but still remain way behind.  This seems to be my life these days.  Busy, busy, busy.  Glad I can stay home with the boys, not sure how everything would get done if I didn't.  It would probably get done, somehow, because it must, but I would be recruiting some help.  Anyway, enough rambling.

Looking back at my last post (not including Andrew's comments during the Superbowl), my last post was written in Oct. of 2012.  That post was for pictures taken in May of 2012.  It is now May of 2013.  We no longer live in that house, city or state.  Our boys are all a year older.  Wouldn't it be nice to just slam on the brakes every once in a while.

So we moved.  Chad had been working at Central Ohio Eye Surgeons for nearly 5 years.  Though he enjoyed the people he worked with and the patients he cared for, he felt he wasn't busy enough.  We had really grown to love the Mount Vernon community.  We all had made some wonderful friends, Andrew and Carson were enjoying school and their various activities.  After several visits to Indianapolis, this is where our family moved.  Chad joined a practice here.

Chad, Alex and I made several trips out to Indy to find our home.  It was a tough decision to make.  So many different things to consider.  To spare you all the details of that process, we ultimately choose our current home based on location.  You know what they say; location, Location, LOCATION!  Our home is less than 10 minutes to one of Chad's offices and about 20 minutes to the other.  We are about 10-15 minutes from my sister and her family.  About 20 minutes from our church.  This area of Indy is known for a great school system and safe neighborhoods. We are about 20 minutes from down town, 5 minutes from 2 really nice malls :), and lots of other shopping and restaurants.

We didn't necessarily fall in love with the house.  And since moving in, Chad and I have both had moments of buyers remorse.  Even Carson comments "This house isn't as nice as our house in Mount Vernon!"  Well, let's face it, we have been a little spoiled.  We built a home in Dayton, it was a Ryan home and maybe not the best quality, but it was new and decorated to our style.  Our house in Mount Vernon was really nice.  It was a speck home, we were the first owners.  It was custom built by Amish.  Really beautiful woodwork, great craftmanship and again, decorated to our style.

This house, not so much.  It was built in 1981.  It hadn't had much updating done to it.  It was quite dated! And definitely has some quirky things about it. But we could see some potential.

These two photos were from the realty listing.

(ok, I started this post in May...it is now July, crazy)

What we did love about this house was the location as I said above.  And also the outdoor space.  Many of the homes we looked at lacked outdoor space.  With three active boys, this was very important to me.  It has plenty of square footage indoors (we don't plan on increasing in number but our three boys have definitely increased in size in the first year we have lived here!)
