In the blogging world, is it acceptable to be blogging about the weekend two days later? Probably not to the serious bloggers out there, but oh well.
We had a fun and busy weekend. Often our weekends are spent doing chores and just hanging out at the house, if we haven't gone away to visit family or friends. This weekend was full of activity.
Friday after eating supper, Chad headed out to mow the lawn. Andrew now rides the Gator as "his lawnmower" when Chad is mowing, instead of the little toy lawnmower he used to push and try and keep up with Chad. Carson and I were outside too. My parents pulled up just as we were heading inside. I knew they were coming but I hadn't told Andrew. He said "Who is here?" I told him he better go look. Well you can imagine the excitement!! We had purchased some meat from my Uncle Fred, 1/4 of a steer, and Mom and Dad brought it to us. So I sound a bit spoiled that my parents would go pick up meat for us, pay for it (we payed them back) and then drive 3 hours to deliver it to us. But I assure you them driving here had little to do with the meat or with me for that matter. ;) It had more to do with two little boys!! :)
They also brought some pre-Halloween treats for the boys and some Dough Box Monster Cookies! YUM!! If you are ever in Northwest Ohio, you must go there. I am a little partial since my Grandma Short worked there for many years. Some favorites are these Monster Cookies (they are huge!), belly stickers, filled sticks and cinnamon rolls, and pies-Peanut Butter, or Chocolate, or Peanut Butter Chocolate or Pecan or Raspberry Cream - Do you want to go yet?? My parents stayed overnight. We enjoyed brunch together and then they went on to Ben & Kristy's to watch Abby so they could have a night out to celebrate their Anniversary.
Saturday afternoon was spent watching Ohio State football of course! Go Bucks!
Saturday evening we had a get together with the young families from our church. We met at one of the families homes. We had a cookout on the fire; hotdogs by the fire and of course marshmellows. It is fun to get together with these families. The children have such a good time playing together. It was a very nice evening weather wise but some of the kids were a little chilly so we took them inside after it was dark.
Sunday after church, we were invited a Birthday party for two little neighbor girls. They had the party at the bowling alley. This was the first time Andrew has been bowling at an actual bowling alley. He really enjoyed it. They had a "slide" of sorts (I don't know what it is really called) for the young children to put their ball on and push it down this "slide" onto the lane. Andrew was loving this! I could not get him to come eat pizza with Carson and I. Later he did come eat some with Chad. But he only ate a few bites and said he "had to get back to playing golf" - not sure where that came from.
Today when I asked him what he wanted for food at his Birthday Party, he said "Pizza". I asked why. He said "Cause that is what Ella had at her party". It is really hard for me to believe that in less than 2 weeks Carson will be 2 and in less than 4 weeks Andrew will be 4. Crazy how fast they grow up.
