First Grade!!

Wed. Aug. 24th was Andrew's first day of First Grade.  Wow, unbelievable.  This is his first year to be at school all day.  Here he is that morning...it was a very dreary rainy morning.

He is very excited about going to school, mostly about seeing his friends but I do think he enjoys learning new things as well.  We have had some bus issues mostly related to the construction vehicles in our cul de sac, two new homes going in.  So the bus driver doesn't want to come down our way, afraid that if there are vehicles in the cul de sac that she won't be able to turn around.  One morning (before I knew about her concern) the bus simply didn't come down to our house.  And one afternoon, she dropped Andrew off at the corner down the road from our house.  I think this made Andrew nervous because he isn't usually that far from our house without Chad or I, so he ran the whole way home to our house.  I think in the mornings I will just drive down to that corner for him to catch the bus and then we will be on our way to take Carson to preschool...
