The Kauffman Christmas Gathering 12/24/08 - 12/27/08

On Christmas Eve, Chad was home from work around noon (which is always nice!). We had our own little family Christmas here. Then that evening we went to Chad's parents' house where we all gathered for several days.

Christmas morning, Byron read the Christmas story and we sang many wonderful Christmas hymns. We had a delicious brunch and then some free time. The grandchildren (except for Carson who was napping) enjoyed some playtime outside and a tractor ride with Grandpa. From left to right: Lucca, Andrew, Grandpa, Emma (in front-love her expression), Anna & Leah.

Later that afternoon Leah played some songs for all of us on the piano.
Here all the grandchildren are decorating foam gingerbread houses with stickers. With an age span of 2 - almost 9, they all really enjoyed this activity together.

Barb is telling the children about a gift of a flock of chicks on each of their behalves through Heifer International.

Friday morning we had a family picture taken at a studio. This is the first time we have done that, besides at each of our weddings. I'm excited to see how the pictures turned out. Friday afternoon we all went to the local YMCA for a time of swimming. I'm pretty sure all the grandchildren loved this, though some were a little timid at first. Friday evening the adults minus Grandma and Grandpa went down to Alan & Tisha's house for dessert and some adult time away from the children. Below is a picture of the grandkids having dessert with Grandma and Grandpa before we left.

The grandchildren all slept at Grandma and Grandpa's house that night. We came back that evening to 5 children soundly sleeping on the floor in their den. What a sweet sight! (Carson was upstairs in a crib.)

Saturday around 11 we headed up to see my family....
