The Buckeyes & "Circle of Life"

Saturday was pretty full of activity around here. Chad went in early to work to see a few post-op patients. My parents arrived at our house soon after 9:00. This way I only had to answer "When are Grandma and Grandpa coming?" a few times that morning. A friend of a friend (Thanks Brandt!) hooked Chad up with two Ohio State football game tickets. I would have enjoyed going but knew my Dad would have enjoyed it more and they were coming this way anyways....so off Chad and Dad went.

Soon after they left, my mom, the boys and I went off to the children's garden (the boys & I had gone with people from church earlier this summer) here in town. The below pictures are all from that. It is a really neat place. The plants still look nice but not quite as many flowers now.

This is a small real-life looking house at the garden. (If you click on the above picture, you can see Carson smashing his little nose into the window!)

We came back to our house for lunch. Then the four of us drove to Columbus. We spent some time doing a little shopping, 2 out of the 4 of us were not so in to shopping. But we had promised that they could play at the indoor play area in the mall. They love that spot. Andrew is always quick to make friends there and this day it was a boy at least twice his age, probably 8 or so.

We met up with Chad and Dad/Grandpa. The boys then went with Grandma and Grandpa. They had their first experience with Chuck E Cheese's! The boys loved it! Sounds like it was very busy with birthday parties and everything else and Grandma and Grandpa were a bit overwhelmed. Then they brought them back to our house for the night.

For Chad's birthday back in Feb., I got him/us tickets to see The Lion King. So that is what the two of us did. It was great! I really liked that movie as a child. It was neat to see how they portrayed all the animals with the elaborate costumes. I really enjoyed the African music. I had wondered if Andrew would like it, he loves the Disney movie. I think he would have enjoyed it but it might have gotten too long for him (2 1/2 hours) and it started at 8pm - definitely would have gone for the Sunday matinee if he would have come! Chad and I spent the night in Columbus. Nice to get away just the two of us every once in a while! Too bad most of Chad's excitement about the day was about the Buckeyes, thou he did enjoy The Lion King as well.

Scott and I were at the Buckeyes game too. Too bad we didn't know he would be there or we could have said hi. We found out on Thursday that a sales rep had box seats so it was kinda last minute.

Ahh, shucks Kami! It would have been good to see you guys, if only for a few minutes. We need to come see all you guys again. It has been way too long.
