Last night three friends and I went to a consignment sale called Three Bags Full. Two of my friends had consigned some of their items and they were each given a pass to invite a friend. The sale opened to the public today, so we had first dibs. It was in two buildings at some local fairgrounds. I could not believe all the items that were there! I think I have mentioned before how I love bargains and I certainly found some last night. I mainly was looking for things for Andrew (poor Carson, not that he really cares, but he gets all of Andrew's old stuff) and found quite a few shirts for Andrew. Someone had brought in new, with tag, Gymboree items and had them on sale. Well this was a little torturous for me. I usually really like Gymboree items and these were brand new, however of course they were priced much higher than the average other items that were there. So I controlled myself and only bought one of these shirts for $8.00, which was the cheapest. Most of the other used shirts I found were around $3-4.
We had a lot of fun together, a night out with just us women, no children. We enjoyed searching for great deals. I also found some toys for the boys; some new, some used. I had planned on keeping them and giving them as birthday or Christmas presents but Andrew saw some of them. He really wants them and I'm not so sure he will forget about them, even if I hide them but I am going to try. I think this is something we will definitely do again together. They have one each spring and fall. I think my favorite find was a three piece outfit from the Children's Place. It included jeans, a green and white striped long sleeve shirt and a little white sweater vest with green and brown argyle on the front.....all for $10! Too cute.
The boys haven't dressed up for Halloween before, but I thought Andrew would probably like to for Preschool. I found him an ape/monkey costume. He saw it this morning and was so excited. He really had no idea what I was talking about when I tried to explain Halloween to him (I still don't think he gets it). He was just excited to have a costume. He tried it on right away. It is too small but he didn't seem to mind the wedgie it gave him! Guess that one is out, maybe Carson can wear it next year. I found something for Carson to wear too, he tried his on and looked so cute....perhaps you will see pictures at the end of Oct. of that.

Kristi, I love reading your blog. It's nice to hear how another mother handles her boys. And I love reading the comments and situtations about the boys. Poor Andrew and his wedgie. :) Keep up the great work!
