Quiet time

Tonight I was making supper. Carson had an unusually clingy day and was sitting on the island next to me, the only other place he was content was on my hip. Andrew was standing beside me on a chair and chattering away. "What are you doing?" "What do we need next?" "Are you going to use lots of batatoes?" (aka tomatoes) "What is that?" I finally was exhausted by the questions and asked Andrew if I could have a little quiet time. "Why do you want quiet time?" I just need a little quiet time. "But I can talk to my Dad." Yes, when Dad gets home you may talk to him.

Amazingly he was quiet for a while. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I see him mouthing and gesturing things but no sound is coming out! So I was then over my irritation and need for quiet time with his orneriness!

A little later I see Andrew cross his arms across his chest, as if giving himself a hug, and say "I love this shirt" I asked him what shirt he had on, to see if he really meant what he said "my brother shirt, I love my brother Carson" He was wearing the "I'm a big brother" shirt that he wore two years ago when we told my family we were expecting Carson. It was a little large then and now a little bit little. He picked it out of his closest to wear today. Here he is 2+ years ago.

Andrew looks so young in that picture! I hardly remember him looking that young and I haven't seen him for months!
